Actuarial Mailing Lists

Ramblings
The RAMBLINGS mailing list is a is an email discussion group hosted by this site as a service to the actuarial profession. Its aim is to create a global forum for the discussion of topics of actuarial interest from annuities to zillmerisation. The discussion group should be of value to all people associated with the actuarial profession (or interested in it) and particularly to actuaries and those studying to be actuaries through the Faculty of Actuaries and the Institute of Actuaries (but not limited to them). If you've heard of, or read, Frank Mitchel Reddington's "A Ramble Through The Actuarial Countryside" then this is certainly the list for you - if not then join the list to find out what we're going on about.
ActStudents
This list is aimed at students studying for the examinations of the Faculty and Institute of Actuaries. The list aims to provide a means of discussion of study related problems and wider actuarial issues affecting students. However, almost any subject is open for discussion.
Actsci-L
The objective of this list is to facilitate the communication of ideas, problems and solutions, and other information among academic actuaries, students, and other interested parties. The aim is to, bring students and professors closer together. A major reason for the creation of this list is to allow students to communicate with students and professors from other schools. This is intended to globalize the actuarial science classroom. Students and professors are encouraged to post problems and/or solutions on the list. This could be very useful in May and November each year.

Lifeins-L

It includes all aspects of life insurance: products, companies, tax issues, etc. But it's true focus is on sales concepts that life insurance agents can use to help explain the value of life insurance to their clients. It acts as a forum to discuss new products--both those recently announced and those not yet announced that would help agents help their clients. It is a forum for life insurance agents to talk about life insurance and the life insurance industry.
