This Honours degree will prepare you for a career in the financial services industry through an in-depth exploration of key aspects of the profession. Courses include the economics of financial markets; analysis and interpretation of financial statements; financial modeling and statistics; corporate finance; equity valuation; futures and derivatives; fixed income securities; portfolio management and securities legislation.

Are you excited by the world of finance? If you have strong numerical ability, a basic background in statistics and mathematics, and an ability to think critically and analytically, then this programme is for you. This programme is intended for individuals who want a relevant, practical understanding of finance.
The curriculum consists of eight modules and an Honours research report. Each course is modularized for 5-6 weeks, with classes presented after hours. The research report allows students to apply their skills and knowledge to a specific finance-related problem.
After graduating, you will be ready to enter the financial services industry as a highly competent professional, with an advanced understanding of financial topics. Possible careers include: Asset manager, financial analyst, economic consultant (e.g World bank).
WHAT ARE THE ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS?
he minimum requirement is a Bachelor’s degree with an average of at least 60% in the major subjects. You must have completed at least a first-year course in statistics and mathematics with an average grade of 60% in each.
