BUS4080F - Concepts and Stakeholders in Tourism

Objective:

This module is designed to provide a comprehensive introduction to the various academic disciplines which contribute to the multi-disciplinary nature of tourism studies. In particular the field of tourism will be examined from a systems approach, which includes identifying and discussing the various stakeholders that constitute the tourism industry and the impact of tourism on a broader scale.

Topics include:

Tourist consumer behaviour, destination marketing, the impacts of tourism and a critical assessment of the various sectors that make up the tourism industry including transportation and accommodation providers, intermediaries, visitor attractions and government tourism organisations.
