Full CVNews

Karl (Kalie) Pauw joined the DPRU in January 2006 as senior researcher. He was formerly employed as a senior researcher at the Western Cape Department of Agriculture where he was involved in the PROVIDE Project. He has been involved in a variety of DPRU projects, with topics ranging from labour market policy and regulation, linkages between labour markets and poverty, and social security provisioning. More recently he was part of a project involving energy and climate change mitigation modelling. This involvement stemmed from the fact that he has a particular interest in input-output and Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) modelling. Given the developmental context of much of the work he is involved in, he has a keen interest in developing ways and understanding how to link micro-level household survey analyses of labour markets and household poverty with more macro-orientated modelling approaches such as CGE models.
