Dr. Richard Chivaka
Career
Dr Richard Chivaka is the Deputy Dean (Research & Post-graduate Affairs)
for the Faculty of Commerce, and an Associate Professor in the Department of
Accounting at the University of Cape Town. His duties as Deputy Dean
(Research & Post-graduate Affairs) include the following:
- Driving research strategy formulation for the Faculty of Commerce
- Overseeing the implementation of research strategy for the Faculty
of Commerce
Dr Chivaka’s academic duties involve the following:
- Programme Director & Lecturer – B. Com & M. Com degrees in Strategic
Cost Management
- Programme Convener – M. Com (Research)
- Post-graduate supervision (Honours, Masters and PhD students)
- Lecturing at the UCT Graduate Business School, on programmes such
as:
- The Executive MBA
- AngloGold Ashanti Management Development Programme
- Sun International Leadership Programme
- Management Development Programme (Retail) for Woolworths
- Management Development Programme (Wine)
- Provincial Health Department Managerial Finance Programme
He serves on the following committees as
