Non UCT students applying to do PGDA
Dear Applicant
Thank you for your enquiry for admission to the Post Graduate Diploma in
Accounting (PGDA) which is a one year full-time programme at the University
of Cape Town.
You will be eligible for admission to the programme provided that you have
met the following:
- You are a graduate or will be before commencing the programme.
- You are eligible for your own university’s one year CA part 1
preparation course.
- You have studied and passed Financial Reporting 3 (or equivalent) in
2008.
- Your academic performance for your undergraduate courses has been
excellent.
Our experience is that students who have graduated but have an average
academic record across all the final year B.Com courses are unlikely to be
successful in the PGDA programme.
The decision to accept or reject applicants wishing to transfer to UCT rests
with the UCT staff adjudicators and is non-negotiable i.e. the accept or
reject decision stands and no appeals, objections (or similar) will be
entertained.
The PGDA programme commences on Friday 6 February 2009 with registration at
2pm in LS2A, Leslie Social Science Building (venue to be confirmed – see
PGDA notice board, 5th level, Leslie Commerce Bldg before Friday 6th Feb).
Registration will be followed by an introductory lecture at 4pm, followed by
cocktails in Room 614 Leslie Commerce Bldg. Documentation setting out the
calendar for the year and various other administration matters will be
mailed to you after receipt of your application form if your application has
been successful.
Applicants wishing to transfer to UCT’s PGDA programme should make
application to Admissions Office, Kramer Building or may download a UCT Form
1 from the UCT website:
http://www.uct.ac.za/apply/applications/forms/. That form must be
returned to the address supplied on the form. In addition, a transcript of
their achieved final undergraduate results as soon as these are available
must be faxed to 021-6897582, attention Mrs B van Leeuwen, or emailed to
