Entrance Requirements

Applicants must:

• Have a Bachelors degree with an Accounting major from a University recognised for the purpose.
• Be a South African citizen or have a study permit and a work permit.
• Write a placement test

Notes

• Applicants who are admitted as candidates for this diploma and who have not completed adequate courses of study in mathematics, statistics, economics, commercial and company law will not be eligible to proceed to the Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting. Such candidates may apply to complete any of the above courses concurrently with their registration for the Postgraduate Diploma in Management (Financial Accounting).
• An adequate knowledge of Internal Controls is a prerequisite for Auditing 1. Students who do not meet this requirement may be required to attend an intensive course in Internal Controls early in the academic year.
•  A candidate who had previously completed one or more of the prescribed courses shall compete a course, or courses, approved by the Head of Department of equal weighting to the one or more courses previously completed.

Application Process

To start with, you need to take a placement test at one of the test centres listed below. You should probably allow approximately one and a half hours in all, as the test itself takes 65 minutes. Please be sure to fill in your telephone number and address on the test form.

The class size is limited and every effort will be made to notify applicants timeously of the outcome.
