ACC1006Z Financial Accounting, ACC1011Z Financial
Reporting 1 and ACC2012Z Financial Reporting 2 are designed to give
students an overview of the undergraduate accounting courses offered to
the Chartered Accounting stream students. These courses are intensive
and run from early January to the end of March. ACC3009W commences in
April with a full-time week.
A 6 week communication course is also included as
part of the diploma, and is run by the Professional Communications Unit.
Applicants who are admitted as candidates for this
diploma and who have not completed adequate courses of study in mathematics,
statistics, economics, commercial and company law will not be eligible to
proceed to the Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting. Such candidates may apply
to complete any of the above courses concurrently with their registration
for the Postgraduate Diploma in Management (Financial Accounting).
At the end of the first year, standard Postgraduate
Diploma in Accounting promotion regulations will apply, and students
meeting the regulations will join the main stream for their second year.
