Introduction
Course Description
The
course is designed to cover all aspects of the Financial Accounting
syllabus for the Qualifying Examination (QE), focussing on those which
have not been covered in prior year Financial Accounting courses and
revising those that have been.
The
majority of examination questions are very integrated, requiring students
to apply financial accounting knowledge relating to a number of different
accounting topics, together with the financing and tax implications
thereof.
In order to be successful, it is essential that students have a
thorough understanding of the syllabus - rote learning is insufficient.
Aims of the course
The
aim of the course is to equip students to perform well in the Qualifying
Examination. In
addition, the course is intended to provide students with a thorough
understanding of financial accounting.
This should enable students to correctly handle the accounting
implications of any situation which they may encounter in their
professional lives.
