ACC4023W - Financial Reporting 4

IntroductionAlex Watson

Course Description

The course is designed to cover all aspects of the Financial Accounting syllabus for the Qualifying Examination (QE), focussing on those which have not been covered in prior year Financial Accounting courses and revising those that have been.

The majority of examination questions are very integrated, requiring students to apply financial accounting knowledge relating to a number of different accounting topics, together with the financing and tax implications thereof.  In order to be successful, it is essential that students have a thorough understanding of the syllabus - rote learning is insufficient.

Aims of the course

The aim of the course is to equip students to perform well in the Qualifying Examination.  In addition, the course is intended to provide students with a thorough understanding of financial accounting.  This should enable students to correctly handle the accounting implications of any situation which they may encounter in their professional lives.
