Teaching and Training :: PhD in Demography :: Doctoral Scholarships
Through the generous support of the Andrew W Mellon Foundation, we are able
to offer scholarships to deserving and needy students intending to follow a PhD in Demography. In
2004, these scholarships were worth approximately R80 000.
Applicants for this programme wishing to be considered for funding should
contact the Programme Convenor. Demography has been acknowledged as 'scarce
skill' in South Africa by the National Research Foundation, and scholarships are
available to South African students to study demography. Note that the closing
date for applications is around the end of June. UCT's postgraduate
funding office also has details of other scholarships available to South
African and non-South African students alike.
