Welcome to the Academics' Union
The Academics' Union is a registered Trade Union established
inter alia to advance, protect, and defend the interests of academic staff and to seek improvements
in the conditions of employment, benefits and working conditions of all its
members at the University of
Cape Town. Membership is voluntary, but requires a monthly contribution to
cover operational and infrastructural costs . In return, members receive
informed advice, support and assistance in matters relating to conditions of
employment and a variety of issues on campus and beyond that affect the lives of
academic staff at UCT.
Our Mission
Our mission is to advance, protect, and defend the rights
and interests of all our members in the relationship to the university as their
employer.
