SPEAKER
Professor Eileen M. Trauth is Professor of Information Sciences and
Technology and Director of the Center for the Information Society at
Pennsylvania State University. She is also Associate Dean for Diversity,
Outreach, and International Engagement. Professor Trauth has published
widely in journals such as MIS Quarterly, Telecommunications Policy,
Education and Computing, and Information and Management. Professor Trauth
has published papers on qualitative research methods, global informatics,
information policy, information management, and the development of IT
professionals. She has also published a book, The Culture of an Information
Economy: Influences and Impacts in the Republic of Ireland (Kluwer, 2000),
and co-authored Information Literacy: An Introduction to Information
Systems (Macmillan, 1991). Professor Trauth also served as editor of
Qualitative Research in IS: Issues and Trends (Idea Group Publishing, 2001)
and Freedom in Philadelphia: Leveraging Differences and Diversity in the IT
Workforce (ACM Press, 2003).
