Prof Weimann graduated
as a Master in Computer Science in Germany and completed his PhD at UCT. For over 10 years he worked in the industry and
consulting business in different management positions and in various IS fields.
From 2000 to 2002 he was appointed full time Associate
Professor at the department of Information System before he relocated to
Germany to take up a position there. Since then Prof Weimann has close research collaboration with the department. He is appointed Honorary Professor at the IS Department. He has co-authored
several textbooks in the field of Information Systems and Business Engineering.
His most recent book is "High performance in Hospital Management- a
tool for developing and developed countries with Springer Publishing Company. The
book is available as an e-book or hardcopy (http://www.springer.com/la/book/9783662496589)
His research topics are IS applications in hospitals, project
management, virtual teams, research methods in sustainable and renewable energy
