Dear

When I became Dean of the Faculty of Commerce I decided I would like to keep you abreast of what’s happening at the University of Cape Town and to assure you that the investment which you made with us during your degree years was a sound one. I hope you have warm memories of your days on campus and trust my letters to you will be a useful way for you to keep in touch with your alma mater.

UCT was recently rated by the London Times Education Supplement in the top 200 universities worldwide (and the top in Africa) based on a range of factors including our research. One of my personal goals, as Dean, is to ensure that the Faculty focuses simultaneously on excellence and transformation. There is no point in having one without the other. It seems we are on the right track, because the Faculty of Commerce is increasingly leading the field in terms of excellent research, innovative teaching and progressive transformation.

Kind Regards,

Professor Melvin Ayogu, Dean of Faculty of Commerce
