UCT Notice: Election Activity on Campus

Dear Colleagues and Residence Student Leaders,

Please find attached a communication (to student structures) with respect to the upcoming South African National and Provincial Government Elections. Included is also the UCT SPECIAL RULES AND CODE OF CONDUCT REGULATING ACTIVITY ON CAMPUS DURING SOUTH AFRICAN NATIONAL AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT ELECTIONS.

I request that you please take note of this, noting the rules and code of conduct for electioneering on campus. Please note that the University Electoral Commission (UEC) and an Electoral Ombudsperson is in the process of being appointed by the Institutional Forum. In the meantime I am available should there be a need, to present and/or answer questions in relation to this at any fora where this may be requested and/or appropriate.

These were approved by the University Student Affairs Committee, a Committee of Council, on Thursday, 12 March 2009.
