Hello from the USA!
Joha Louw-Potgieter, head of Organisational Psychology in the Faculty of
Commerce and Johann Louw (Department of Psychology) are currently on sabbatical
at Claremont Graduate University (CGU), School of Behavioral and Social Sciences
on a staff exchange programme.
The School recently presented a series of continuing education short courses
and Joha and Johann, together with Mark Lipsey from Vanderbilt University and Robert
Klitgaard, the president of CGU, presented three keynote addresses. The UCT
contingent has delivered a paper on the effect of the South African
Government-wide Monitoring and Evaluation system and UCT’s response to it. They
also highlighted the unique contribution that UCT is making in the areas of
human resource programme evaluation and human rights based evaluation.
Due to the hospitality shown by Stewart Donaldson, the Dean of the School of
Behavioral and Organizational Sciences, and his faculty members, the pair are
spending a highly rewarding and stimulating time away from home.
