Stream Information
Bachelor of Science (Honours)
Students must construct their BSc (Hons) curriculum for the
degree subject to the rules of the Science Faculty. These rules are detailed in
the Science Faculty handbook.
Students who have an undergraduate degree in actuarial
science must complete 14 credits for the BSc (Hons) degree. A complete list of
the subjects allowed and their credit can be found in the Science Faculty
handbook.
Actuarial Science students are required to take the
following courses:
- BUS3018F: Actuarial Science II: Models - 2 credits
- BUS3024S: Actuarial Science II: Contingencies - 2
credits
- BUS4027W: Actuarial Science III: Investment and Asset Management -
6
credits
- BUS4028F: Actuarial Science III: Financial Economics - 2 credits
- STA408H: Risk Statistics and Modelling
Students choose from various statistics honours modules to
make up the remaining credits. Please consult the handbook for more details.
Students without an undergraduate degree in actuarial
science should probably be considering a Postgraduate Diploma in Actuarial
Science as they are unlikely to be able to register for Actuarial Science I and
II courses.
